Every beer, with the numbers showing
Strength, bitterness, hops and malt for all of it. Four we brew every week of the year, and a handful that turn up, sell out and go away again.
Brewed all year
The four you can always get
Shy Giant IPA
Brewed with a healthy dose of Belma and Mosaic, then dry hopped with Mosaic and Citra. Grapefruit and citrus make the nose, and there is enough malt underneath to keep it balanced. A beer that understands bigness without balance will only make you stumble.

Lion’s Paw Lager
We have a saying around the brewery. Pluck a thorn from the paw of a lion and you will have a companion for years. This started as a recipe that could have been aggressive and we made it smooth instead. Intense copper colour, distinctly malty, and tame enough to be your sidekick.

Curio Sour ale
Sometimes the smallest things carry the most weight. A watch from your dad, a locket from your grandma. Here is one more for the collection, and this one comes in twelve ounces. Tart, full of citrus, finishing on lemonade and grapefruit. Spritzy, and exactly right in July.

Farmhouse French-style petite saison
A nod to the seasonal farmhands, the saisonniers, who earned up to five litres of this style every working day. Citrus and spice, bright and crisp. Whether you have just come in from the field or back from a long day at a desk, raise one to the finished work.

Limited, seasonal and one-off
These come and go. If one of them is on the wall and you like it, that is the moment to take a crowler home.
Gallivant Hazy IPA, wandering hop series
Our flagship hazy, and a different hop bill every batch so we can keep exploring. Batch 11 was Mosaic, Idaho 7 and Cryopop. Earlier ones went out with Ekuanot and Simcoe, Citra and Vic Secret, El Dorado and Citra, Citra and Azacca.

Esmé French-style saison, 750ml
Of all the people you meet, a few change the way you see things. For brewers it happens with beer sometimes too. Esmé is a spin on our Farmhouse that came out as something genuinely rare, and it comes in a corked bottle to match.

Not beer
Skip Day
Our hard seltzers and vodka sodas, in blood orange, lime, passionfruit and a handful of others. They are the gluten free option here, which gets asked often enough that it is worth saying plainly: the Fernson beers are not gluten free, and every Skip Day is.
Getting hold of it
Three ways, and one we would love to offer and cannot
In the taproom
Pints, crowlers and cans at Fernson Downtown, 332 S Phillips Ave. Crowlers are filled to order from whatever is on at the time.
Online, for pickup
Order through our store and collect it at Downtown. Call (605) 789-2012 if you would rather sort it over the phone.
Kegs, from the brewery
We sell kegs to people throwing a party, from the brewery on Robur Drive only. We cannot sell them to anyone who will resell the beer.
We cannot ship beer. Alas, laws. If your local store does not stock us, ask them to, because that is genuinely how we find out where the demand is.
